The ILSA is a non-profit organization formed back in 1984 and for the moment has 400 active members and 250 Aircrafts of different models. Its objectives are to promote sports aviation activity and increase awareness of flight safety and regulation among its member pilots. Most of the activity is based of Rishon airfield (LLRS) with over 100 airplanes and Ein-Vered (LLEV) airfield with about 50 airplanes.
The ILSA is also committed to contribution to the community, among its activities are flying of children, and teaching aviation (both theory and practice) to under developed communities.
The LSA segment is the fastest growing in terms of privet aircraft registered every year in Israel. Among our sports activities are Fly-By events 3-4 times a year, with an average of 80 participating A/C. This activity includes flying over a unique route with landing in a designated airstrip followed by a recreational activity. Sometimes this activity is joined other Aviation associations (Paragliders, Balloons etc)
We also have a growing community of Pilots that fly overseas, about 25 of them fly at least once a year to Cyprus, Greece and beyond. We expect this number to grow, with the arrival of new LSA A/C models, capable of making this journey.
